Parkview Estate Project to go tender shortly

MINISTER Dara Calleary T.D. has welcomed the announcement that the Parkview Estate Regeneration Project at Charlestown, which has attained priority status with the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, will now proceed to tender with a view to an early start in 2010.

“Minister Michael Finneran T.D. has informed me that the Parkview Estate Project is one of six around the country that will now go to tender.”

“I am delighted that progress is being made in relation to the Parkview Project which was granted over €2 million in funding last year. Minister Finneran has indicated that the works will commence in early 2010 once the tender process has been completed.

This is very good news for the residents of Parkview with remedial works, layout and housing fabric improvements planned as part of the project,” said Minister Calleary.

“Of course there is a double benefit realised from remedial works projects which not only improve the physical fabric of local communities, but are also highly labour intensive and offer opportunities to stimulate local employment throughout the country,” concluded Minister Calleary.
