MINISTER for Labour Affairs Dara Calleary TD has welcomed news that Ballina’s Joint Policing Committee will commence shortly.

The announcement was made at last week’s monthly meeting of Ballina Town Council.

“I am pleased that the Joint Policing Committee for Ballina is about to come to fruition and wish to congratulate everyone involved in getting the project to this stage.

I would like to congratulate Chairperson Cllr Johnnie O’Malley and Vice-Chair Cllr Mark Winters on their election to these positions and wish them every success in their new roles.

I also congratulate and commend the three local organisations that will sit on the committee – the ICA, Ardnaree Residents Association and New Age Seekers,” he said.
