Govt sits on its hands while over 550 mortgages a week fall into arrears
The Government is paralysed by the scale of the mortgage crisis and is failing to help families in difficulty in a comprehensive way, according to Mayo Fianna Fáil TD Dara Calleary. The Central Bank has confirmed that 77,630 or 10.2% of all private residential mortgages are now in arrears of more than 90 days. Shannon Airport decision has potentially serious implications for Knock
Mayo Fianna Fáil TD Dara Calleary has expressed serious concerns about what he termed “potentially serious implications” for Ireland West Airport Knock arising from the Government’s announcement about Shannon Airport today. Deputy Calleary commented, “The Government’s decision in relation to the reorganisation of Shannon Airport could have damaging consequences for Knock Airport. The Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has given strong indications that there will be debt write off at Shannon Airport.
