Calleary invites Oireachtas Enterprise Committee to Mayo & Galway

High Pot 4Members of the Oireachtas Enterprise Committee will see first-hand the challenges facing businesses in Mayo and Galway next week at the invitation of Mayo Deputy Dara Calleary.

Deputy Calleary, Fianna Fáil’s Spokesperson on Jobs and Enterprise, has invited a delegation of TDs and Senators to meet with business leaders and organisations in Castlebar and Ballinasloe on Monday.   Local TDs will also be in attendance.

“The aim of this trip is to give TDs and Senators a first-hand insight into the real challenges facing business, employers and workers in Co Mayo at this time,” said Deputy Calleary.

“We will be meeting Ballyhaunis Chamber of Commerce, Castlebar Chamber, Claremorris Chamber and Westport Chamber and County Council officials, as well as representatives of Retail Ireland, Knock Airport, Mayo County Enterprise Board, the local IFA and ICMSA among others.

“The group will then travel to Ballinasloe in the afternoon to meet Galway Chamber of Commerce, Ballinasloe and Tuam Chambers of Commerce, Galway IFA and Galway VFI, along with local public representatives.

“I am hoping that this will give decision makers a proper understanding of the ongoing jobs crisis in this region and the real problems facing small businesses and the farming community at this time,” said Deputy Calleary.
